  • Genki is a B2B SaaS platform designed specifically for independent optometry practices in Canada. It provides electronic health records (EHR) and practice management tools to enhance patient care and improve business efficiency.

  • Currently, Genki is available across Canada but we are focused on Ontario where we can provide on-site setup and implementation. We are planning to rollout our software across North America and eventually to anywhere that our reputation takes us!

  • Genki is priced to be an affordable monthly subscription service with two tiers:

    Essential – Includes core practice management features like scheduling, patient records, billing, and basic reporting.

    Growth – Includes all Essential features plus work order management, online booking, form management, reputation management, and advanced reporting.

    In addition to the subscription costs, we scale our pricing based on the average number of patients your office sees. Please contact us for more details on our pricing approach and to estimate your total costs.

  • We do not currently offer a free trial but we're happy to help you and your team understand how Genki can improve your practice before you join our community! Contact us to book a demo and get the process started! If possible, we'll put you in touch with existing Genki customers and users to get their direct feedback before you commit.

  • There are some initial set up fees but those can be waived depending on the length of your initial contract. Contact us to learn more about how we price.

  • Once we schedule an office for onboarding, most clinics can get started with Genki after one day of launch training. Our onboarding team will guide you through setup, training, and data migration.

  • We offer onboarding support, training materials, and customer support across all plans. The Growth tier includes a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for prioritized support.

  • Yes, our team can assist with patient record migration to ensure a smooth transition to Genki.

  • Yes, Genki supports claims and billing processes directly with OHIP / the Ministry of Health. Our billing & reconciliation is fully automated, saving your offices countless hours each week

  • Yes, Genki is cloud-based and accessible from desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

  • Genki is a web-based platform that works on any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) with a stable internet connection.

  • You can cancel at any time, and your subscription will remain active until the end of your billing cycle. We make it easy for you cancel and do not believe in holding you or your data hostage, which we can't say for everybody else.

  • Yes, we continuously enhance our platform with new features, security updates, and improvements based on customer feedback.

  • Smooth transitions and a very intuitive EMR.

    Genki has been a game changer for our office. It allowed us to use exam templates we like and were familiar with from our old EMR and gave us improve efficiency by making more of our administrative tasks automated. The data from our old EMR was transferred seamlessly onto the Genki platform making for a smooth transition. Their team were great at helping us adjust to what is a very intuitive EMR. We have been able to customize the way and type of communication we use with patients, helping us maintain our brand but also ensuring we can optimize doctors' time and schedules. Staff time is greatly reduced by making processes, that previously were multi step, require less steps and/or be automated. Managing the practice is much easier as Genki allows you to pull many types of data from the EMR and also provides insightful end of day summaries to key practice management metrics. They are proactive in their communication regarding updates and service updates and are always quick to respond to questions when we are using the EMR for tasks we do infrequently and cannot always remember how to do. Migrating EMRs can be full of a lot of unknowns but the process was simpler and easier than I could have imagined and I wish Genki had been around a lot earlier!

    Switching to Genki nearly three years ago has been a game changer for our office. This platform has greatly enhanced the efficiency of daily operations for both staff and doctors, addressing the shortcomings of our previous EMR system as our practice grew. Genki has worked exceptionally well for us, eliminating many tasks for our front desk staff and significantly reducing administrative hours (such as patient booking, OHIP verification, tracking referrals, sending appointment reminders, recalls, and more). For the doctors, the system automatically submits OHIP billing daily, downloads OHIP reconciliation, and eliminates the need for the EDT portal. It also allows remote charting and enables writing and faxing referrals directly through the platform, among other benefits.

    Productivity and profitability have naturally increased, with fewer no-shows for appointments, less time spent gathering data and correcting clinical errors for OHIP reconciliation, and, best of all, improved patient care as staff and doctors can focus more on delivering care to those in the office.

    Working with the team at Genki has been wonderful. They have been extremely helpful and accommodating as we navigate the software in our practice. Genki as a software is very flexible and intuitive to navigate. We were able to customize the EHR records to reflect the flow of the exam that we prefer. We were able to create multiple exam templates which saves a significant amount of time and so that allows our exams to be more efficient. They were very helpful during the integration phase and the team at Genki made the learning process so easy. The staff has been happy with Genki as well.     I have had the pleasure of migrating to Genki in March 2024. The Genki team seamlessly completed this process in a timely manner without disrupting my clinic operations.

    I previously used ODOffice Pro and iFile, and Genki far surpasses my former EMRs. Genki is rather intuitive to use and my staff and associates were able to learn most of the features on the first day of training. (When my team migrated from iFile to OD Office Pro, some of my staff took over two weeks to learn how to book an appointment...) Not only is Genki intuitive to use, but its automated text message/email reminders, one-click patient recalls, and online booking application have simultaneously increased my appointment booking and decreased my staff administrative time!

    In addition, the automated OHIP verifications and submissions have freed up a significant portion of my office manager's time as she does not need to log into the Go Secure website to submit and download the files anymore. We also do not have to worry about missing any submissions because Genki will notify us as soon as there are any unpaid OHIP claims.

    I also appreciated the Genki team creating customized eye examination templates for me as I am rather particular about what I want included in my eye examinations. The easily-customizable emails, text message reminders, and Google review requests also add a personal touch to the communications sent from my clinic.

    I had previously paid a third party vendor $99+tax per month to provide online booking, and it was time-consuming for my staff to input all the data from that third party vendor into our EMR. When Genki updated to include its own online booking application (with customizable options!), it now takes less than 5 seconds to complete a booking. I have also noticed a recent increase in our Google Reviews this year, and it is all thanks to the automated Google review requests sent from Genki after an appointment is completed!

    Genki also provides an internal messaging system, and this feature has helped improve the communication between my staff and doctors. Tasks are no longer left behind because we can now " assign " tasks to specific staff or groups in Genki. I also use this feature to create my own "to do" list and to communicate about specific patients to my staff and associates.

    There are so many great things to say about Genki, but most importantly, it's the amazing and timely customer support that the Genki team has provided me over the past year. I was initially hesitant to switch EMRs due to the potential hassle and staff training time; however, I am now confident that I made the correct decision to migrate over to Genki from OD Office Pro. Genki is already superior to several EMRs on the market right now, but I am optimistic that Genki will only get better with time!
